I stumbled upon this infographic not too long ago. It has some interesting information regarding how credit scores are factored. It also includes some disturbing data. The average household credit card debt is over $15,000. On average, Americans have over $2,000 in credit card debt per person.
Not surprisingly, the map that shows average credit scores as compared to bankruptcy filings demonstrates that areas with high foreclosure rates have also seen lower credit scores and more bankruptcy filings than areas with lower foreclosure rates.
